How to cost house-made syrups and sauces once, not per drink
If you make your own syrups, sauces or creams, their cost has to go into every drink that uses them, and when an ingredient price goes up you redo all of it. Set it up once as a sub-recipe instead. In each item you just pick it and enter the amount, and when a price changes you update one ingredient and every item that uses it follows.

Steps
Step 1
Make it in the Sub-recipes tab
Open the Sub-recipes tab at the bottom and tap the orange plus (+) button in the corner. The example is sweet cream.
An ingredient you haven’t used before gets added as a new one. Heavy cream bought as a 32-ounce carton for $6 goes in just like that, and this batch uses 600 ml of it.
Ingredients already on your list only need to be picked. Milk goes in at 275 ml, and the vanilla syrup you bought goes in the same way at 125 ml.
Step 2
Yield is the finished amount
Yield is how much you end up with. Mixed together, 600 ml of heavy cream, 275 ml of milk and 125 ml of vanilla syrup make 1,000 ml of sweet cream. Switch Yield to ml and enter 1,000.
If you cook something down, measure it once it’s done and enter that amount.
Save it, and sweet cream comes to $0.0061 per ml. That’s the batch cost divided by the 1,000 ml it makes.
Step 3
Add it to an item
Make the drink in the Recipes tab, here a cold brew, and tap Add ingredient. The sweet cream you just made is in the Sub-recipes tab.
Put 75 ml on each cup and the sweet cream costs 46 cents. Add the coffee, and one cold brew costs 93 cents.
Step 4
Add it to another item
Iced chai uses the same sweet cream. There’s no need to make it again. Pick it and enter the amount.
Add the chai concentrate and milk, and one iced chai costs $1.19.
Step 5
See where it’s used
Open sweet cream in the Sub-recipes tab. Used in shows both drinks, the cold brew and the iced chai, so you can see which items this sub-recipe goes into.
Step 6
Change one price, every item updates
If heavy cream goes up, change only its price in the Ingredients tab, here to $8. You don’t have to touch the sweet cream.
Both drinks update on their own. The cold brew goes from 93 cents to $1.03, and the iced chai from $1.19 to $1.29.
Start with the syrup, sauce, or cream you use most in your shop.
